Kasetsart University

Kasetsart University (KU), established in 1943, is Thailand’s first agricultural university and the country's third oldest higher education institution. Located in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district, KU has grown into Thailand’s largest university, with over 86,000 students enrolled across seven campuses nationwide.

While KU’s foundation lies in agricultural sciences, it has since expanded into a comprehensive university offering diverse academic programs in life sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities, and business. It is widely recognised for its research excellence and commitment to sustainable development.

The Bangkhen main campus features state-of-the-art laboratories, extensive libraries, and a full range of student services, creating a dynamic and inclusive academic environment. KU actively welcomes international students through various English-language degree programs and exchange opportunities.

In forestry and agriculture, KU stands out as the only institution in Thailand that maintains long-term ecological datasets for education and research purposes. Specialised laboratories support research in forest pathology (equipped with microscopes, laminar flow hoods, spectrophotometers, and plant physiology instruments), forest genetics, and forest ecology, complemented by on-site greenhouses.

Field-based learning and research are further supported by the Wang Nam Khiao Field Station and a nationwide network of long-term forest monitoring plots, offering unique opportunities for hands-on ecological and environmental studies.
